Job Summary

Tasting room and social media manager will engage with customers on a daily basis on all social media platforms with the goal of turning followers into customers. This job requires communication with managers to determine what to promote on social media during each time of year. Major duties include improving interactions with customers online, creating new and original content, promoting events at the winery on social media, and managing tasting room inventory and staff. Cashier duties will be performed as needed at all Stony Hill locations. Saturdays are required.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Create and publish relevant, original, and high quality content including images and videos
  • Develop and implement a social media marketing plan for Rebel Sheep Wine Co.
  • Grow social media following for Rebel Sheep Wine Co.
  • Develop and implement tasting room procedures and training documents
  • Interview potential employees and oversee training and onboarding process
  • Create and implement inventory documents for the Rebel Sheep tasting room
  • Communicate efficiently with managers for ordering supplies when needed
  • Sell and promote Rebel Sheep Wines in tasting room
  • Relay customer feedback to managers and winemakers to help improve product development
  • Attend trainings and educational opportunities as needed
  • Be the leader of customer service; ensure all Tasting Room Associates communicate in a knowledgeable, professional, and gracious manner that is accurate and consistent with the mission and vision of Rebel Sheep Wine Co.
  • Responsible for supervising and motivating and developing all seasonal and part time Tasting Room Associates
  • Ensure tasting room and inventory areas are clean, neat, and stocked at all times; ensure displays of wine and non-wine products in tasting room are attractive and maintained
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively work to promote and recognize performance. Assign duties and monitor quality of work; assure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations
  • Promote the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the tasting room and ensure that Tasting Room Associates are trained to identify and pursue sales opportunities presented by contact with guests
  • Utilize POS system to transact sales and maintain tasting room inventory; reconcile daily sales and posts transactions via “End of Day” closing operations
  • Maintain the hospitality and wine training program to assure all Tasting Room Associates conduct themselves in a professional manner and extend every courtesy and service to visitors. Ensure all Associates are thoroughly versed in the wines of Rebel Sheep Wine Co., as well as wine terms and pronunciations
  • Assist in the maintenance of the departmental policies and procedures; train permanent and seasonal staff on policies and procedures, effectively communicate changes and ensure compliance
  • Keep up to date on overall activities of the department and division, identify problem areas and take corrective action
  • Represent the company during outside functions when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Marketing or related degree or relevant on the job experience
  • 21 years of age or older

Work Schedule

Work hours vary by season. This is a full time year round position with hours varying from 30 hours to 50+ hours during peak season. Saturdays are a requirement. Report to work 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Anticipated hours per week by season:

  • January-April: 20-30 hours per week
  • May-June 30-40 hours per week
  • Mid June-November: 40-50+ hours per week (No weekends off in October)
  • November-December: 40 hours per week
  • Work on weekends, required
